GID Investment Advisers LLC Enters into Joint Venture to Develop The Cascades in Dallas Metroplex

Boston - (November 15, 2006) - GID Investment Advisers LLC (a division of The General Investment & Development Companies) announced today that it entered into a joint venture with the Jackson-Shaw Company to develop a flex business park in the city of The Colony to be known as the Cascades at the Colony.

The property is located along Highway 121, which is being widened to serve as a major collector road linking several northwest Dallas communities with direct access to DFW Airport. The Cascades at the Colony will feature a park as a major focal point with a cascading waterfall hence the name of the development. The Cascades will be a mixed-use development with flex space, two hotels (Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn), restaurants, retail, and office.

The flex component of the Cascades will total 200,100 square feet in six buildings with both dock-high and drive-in facilities. The buildings will feature an expansive glass line with stone accents adjacent to the park and waterfall.

Robert Fessler, President of GID’s Flex/Industrial Group noted that “the Cascades will fill a niche for service companies not currently served in the market as well as the growth in the area stemming from the widened Highway 121 and the resultant greatly enhanced accessibility to a broader geographic area”.

GID continues to grow its flex/industrial portfolio with new activity in 2006 also including the 384,000 square foot acquisition of Stonehollow Business Center in Austin and the 135,000 square foot acquisition of Stellar Business Center in Phoenix. GID now owns and manages over three million feet of flex industrial space across the U.S.
