The General Investment and Development Companies announces the hiring of Robert D. Fessler as President of the Flex Industrial Group.

Boston - (May 01, 2006) - The General Investment and Development Companies (“GID”) has successfully completed the search for President of its Flex Industrial Group. Robert D. Fessler has joined GID to lead the company’s expanding venture into the flex industrial market. In addition to his role as President of the Flex Industrial Group, Mr. Fessler will serve on GID’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining GID, Mr. Fessler had spent 18 years with Duke Realty Corporation, the largest mixed-use real estate investment trust in America. His last position with Duke Realty was that of Regional Executive Vice President overseeing the company’s Atlanta, Raleigh, Florida, and Dallas operations comprising more than 31 million square feet valued at $2.5 billion and included 1500 acres of undeveloped land. Mr. Fessler also served on the company’s Investment Committee and Operating Committee. Prior to that position, Mr. Fessler was the General Manager of Duke’s Cincinnati operation, which included over 17 million square feet of office and industrial space and 300 acres of undeveloped land. Mr. Fessler received his Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance concentration, with honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1980.
